RN - Ostomy & Wound Care SpecialistJoin a compassionate healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in ostomy and wound care within a supportive and innovative environment in the Midwest region. This full-time day position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:50 am to 4:30 pm, with weekend call rotation approximately every seventh weekend. The role focuses on delivering patient- and family-centered nursing care that aligns with best practices and professional standards.AssessmentConduct comprehensive assessments across all age groups, identifying physical, psychosocial, cultural, and safety factors. Utilize advanced assessment skills to interpret findings and tailor patient education accordingly. Maintain up-to-date resources and documentation in line with education protocols.PlanningCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized teaching and discharge plans incorporating pharmacological, dietary, and therapy interventions. Adjust plans based on patient progress and feedback to ensure optimal outcomes.ImplementationAdhere to OSHA regulations and safety protocols while delivering patient education. Document education activities thoroughly and communicate significant patient changes to physicians. Serve as a liaison for patient education and participate in community outreach programs.Education and ExperienceGraduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Proficiency with computer systems is necessary.Licensure and CertificationsMust hold an active Registered Nurse license from the appropriate state board. Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty wound care credentials are required or to be obtained upon hire.
