Inside Sales Support Representative – Los Angeles, CA (in-person)

About the Role

The Inside Sales Support Representative serves as the local extension of the Area Sales Manager, providing on-the-ground support throughout the assigned territory. This role is responsible for building relationships with customers and prospects, increasing visibility for the company, coordinating meetings, and supporting sales growth through proactive field activity. While this is not a quota-carrying outside sales role, it is critical to creating opportunities and strengthening customer engagement.

This position combines inside sales coordination with regular field visits, serving as the "boots on the ground" that helps the Area Sales Manager maximize time and focus on closing business.

What You’ll Do

Field & Territory Responsibilities

• Support the Area Sales Manager by managing day-to-day field activities and territory coverage.
• Visit customers, municipalities, distributors, and prospective clients to build relationships, introduce products, gather project information, and identify new business opportunities.
• Conduct regular account visits and follow up on customer inquiries, quotes, project updates, and outstanding action items.
• Schedule and coordinate customer meetings, site visits, product demonstrations, and territory travel.
• Prospect within assigned territories to generate qualified leads and support business development efforts.
• Represent the company at trade shows, lunch-and-learns, municipal meetings, and other industry events.
• Gather market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support sales strategy and territory growth.

Office & Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate customer, project, and opportunity records in Salesforce, ensuring timely updates and data integrity.
• Coordinate meetings, calendars, travel arrangements, and logistics for the Area Sales Manager.
• Prepare proposals, sales materials, reports, meeting notes, and customer documentation.
• Coordinate with Sales Enablement, Design, Production, Supply Chain, and Operations to support project execution and customer follow-up.
• Manage project documentation, maps, photos, and supporting information to ensure opportunities are complete and organized.
• Assist with event planning, onboarding activities, and other administrative tasks that support the sales team and overall territory operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in sales support, inside sales, customer service, or business development.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable making cold calls, visiting businesses, and networking in person.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong time management abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting field sales teams.
• Knowledge of B2B sales processes.
• Experience coordinating appointments and managing sales pipelines.

Work Environment

• Combination of office and field work.
• Frequent local travel within the assigned territory (approximately 60–80% field-based).
• Occasional overnight travel for meetings or industry events.
