- Conduct evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing functionalities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide education for patients and family members to reinforce progress outside therapy sessions.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the recovery journey.
- Maintain accurate and prompt documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer engagement.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not been achieved yet.
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of starting employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for individuals of all ages, with a strong foundation in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Ability to modify therapy techniques to suit various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with effective problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation practices.
