Veterinary Assistant

WVRC Waukesha is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to support our Emergency department! The Veterinary Technician Assistant provides key support to the technician and veterinarian staff. Must be friendly, professional and courteous, and capable of handling several tasks at once with frequent interruptions. Must be able to take direction from multiple staff members while adhering to training standards. Schedule and Compensation: This position is for third shift Four 9-10 hour shifts each week, including every other weekend 4 Holidays per year Pay starts at $16 an hour and may be higher depending on experience Applicable shift differential will apply; 4pm-12a $3.00/hr, 12a-8a $5.00/hr Benefits of Working at WVRC: Full-time Benefits include comprehensive Medical, Dental, 401k Retirement Savings Plan, Flexible Spending Plan, Uniform Allowance, Veterinary Services Benefits, Continuing Education Benefits and Paid Time Off. Essential Functions: Multi-tasking and attention to detail skills are required. Must have the ability to stand for the majority of the work period and enough stamina to work past the regularly scheduled shifts, if needed. Qualifications: Must have worked or volunteered working with dogs and cats at a clinic, Humane Society, Kennel, or similar WVRC - has three hospital locations: Waukesha, Racine and Grafton all dedicated to providing patients, clients, and referring veterinarians the highest quality emergency and specialty veterinary medical care.
