Structural Steel Layout Fitter

Welder / FitterJoin a growing structural fabrication team responsible for fitting, fabricating, and welding both structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This hands-on role requires blueprint reading, layout fitting, flux-core welding, overhead crane operation, and working with large steel assemblies while maintaining high quality and safety standards.First Shift: 6 am - 2:30 pm, overtime as neededPay: $25-$30/hrEssential SkillsProficiency in structural steel welding, with strong experience using flux core welding on structural steel.Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and weld symbols accurately.Experience operating overhead cranes safely in a steel fabrication or similar industrial environment.Competence using air arc, grinders, magnetic drills, and other common fabrication tools.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, structurally sound welds.Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors.Ability to work safely and consistently in a loud, heavy industrial setting.Capability to maintain a clean, organized work area while managing multiple tasks.What You'll DoLay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components from blueprintsRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbolsPerform structural steel welding (Flux-Core/FCAW)Operate overhead cranes to move and position materialsUse cutting and heating torches for steel modifications and heat correctionsCheck beam camber and sweep tolerances and make adjustments as neededSet up jigs and fixtures for fabrication and welding projectsMaintain quality standards and inspect finished workKeep work areas clean, organized, and safeSupport daily production needs within the structural departmentBenefitsStable workload, strong job security and growth opportunitiesPTO401(k) with company matchJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of York, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
