This is a hands-on, high-volume position that spans the full accounting cycle in a complex, multi-entity environment. The role reports directly to the Director of Finance. At a Glance Job Title Accounting Assistant Employment Type Full-Time Work Setting On-Site - Raleigh, NC area Reports ToDirector of Finance Experience 3-5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping or staff-accounting experience required Education Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience considered Compensation Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus health insurance and paid time off.
Key Responsibilities - Process and manage accounts payable, including coding, entry, and payment runs - Handle accounts receivable and client invoicing across multiple entities - Perform bank reconciliations with accuracy and consistency - Conduct collections follow-up with clients and vendors - Support month-end close activities - Maintain organized, accurate financial records across all entities - Assist with ad-hoc reporting and special projects as needed What We're Looking For Technical skill matters - and so does the way you work. The right person is: - Energized by a fast pace and high volume, able to keep multiple entities straight without falling behind - Self-directed - manages competing priorities and meets deadlines without close supervision - A direct communicator who surfaces problems early and follows through - Composed under pressure and adaptable when plans change - A positive, collaborative presence the rest of the team is glad to work with Requirements - 3-5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping or staff-accounting experience - Proficiency in QuickBooks Online - Strong Microsoft Excel skills - A demonstrated track record of managing AP, AR, and reconciliations independently Preferred (Not Required) - Experience as an accountant or bookkeeper within a consulting firm, marketing agency, retail business, or property management company - Multi-entity or intercompany accounting experience - Interest in incorporating AI tools into accounting workflows - Interest in growing professionally and taking on more responsibility over time Benefits This is a substantive role with real ownership of the books.
