Payroll Specialist

This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, employee support, and maintaining payroll records while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees.
  
• Review and verify timekeeping records, payroll changes, and employee deductions.
  
• Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and payroll adjustments.
  
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  
• Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll tax filings.
  
• Maintain employee payroll records and update payroll data as needed.
  
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  
• Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger and support month-end close activities.
  
• Assist with year-end payroll processing, including W-2 and other tax reporting requirements.
  
• Support payroll audits and provide documentation as requested.
  
• Partner with Human Resources and Finance to ensure accurate employee and compensation data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
  
• Experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment preferred.
  
• Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws.
  
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, UKG, Paycom, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Compensation Transparency
The anticipated salary range for this Payroll Specialist position is $50,000 - $52,000 annually , depending on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, including bonus opportunities, where applicable.
