Medical Receptionist

Description Greet all patients and visitors to ensure a friendly, welcoming and professional clinic atmosphere Answering, screening, and directing high volume of phone calls to appropriate parties without error Scheduling appointments Verifying insurances Reviewing patient registration forms for accuracy and completeness Verifying insurances and requesting co-payments Scanning documents into patient’s electronic medical record Assures all patients private health information is properly shredded after it is scanned. Primary Medical Receptionist duties will include but are not limited to: Greet all patients and visitors to ensure a friendly, welcoming and professional clinic atmosphere Check In/Check Out patients Answering, screening, and directing high volume of phone calls to appropriate parties without error Scheduling appointments Verifying insurances Reviewing patient registration forms for accuracy and completeness Verifying insurances and requesting co-payments Scanning documents into patient’s electronic medical record Assures all patients private health information is properly shredded after it is scanned. Secondary Medical Receptionist duties will include but are not limited to: Answering, screening, can directing phone calls to appropriate parties without error Scheduling patient appointments Calling “no-show” patients and rescheduling them for another appointment Delivering patient messages to providers, care teams, and patients Timely responses to patient inquire and timely completion of assigned task Manage faxes, copying and scanning as needed Provides back-up support to the other office departments as necessary Requirements: At least one year experience as a receptionist preferably in a Family Medicine setting Knowledge of medical terminology Electronic Medical Records proficiency, Cerner preferred The desire to work in a fast pace environment The ability to communicate clearly to patients and fellow staff members both verbally and in writing Educational Requirement: A High School Diploma or GED Salary: $25.00 - $27.00/hr #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrance Memorial
