CNC Machinist

Pay: $23.00–$27.00/hour Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Machine Machinist to set up, operate, and inspect precision-machined components in a fast-paced, safety-focused manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining principles, be comfortable working with G-code, and have the ability to read engineering drawings, make machine adjustments, and accurately inspect finished parts.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines, including Haas VF-series equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, work instructions, tolerances, and machining symbols.
• Load raw materials, secure workpieces, and verify proper machine alignment and offsets.
• Input and adjust tool wear, fixture offsets, feeds, and speeds as needed to maintain part accuracy.
• Perform basic G-code edits at the machine control for dimensional corrections, efficiency, and toolpath adjustments.
• Monitor machining processes to ensure proper tool performance, part finish, and cycle-time requirements.
• Change tooling, inserts, fixtures, and workholding components as needed.
• Inspect finished and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and material issues and communicate concerns to maintenance or supervisors.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning machines, checking coolant and lubrication systems, and removing chips.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following 5S and safety standards.
• Work independently while meeting production and quality deadlines.
• Collaborate with engineering, programming, and production teams to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, cutting tools, speeds/feeds, and G-code.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC milling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T, and machining symbols.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and accurate inspection techniques.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machine, tooling, or material issues.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and meet production deadlines.
• Ability to safely lift or move materials using proper techniques or mechanical assistance.
