Java Developer III

DPP is seeking a Java Developer for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry.


Work location : Partial onsite (Tues., Wed., Thurs. and as needed) in Columbia, SC.
Duration : 12 months
Terms : W2 contract
Work authorization : Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level (Public Trust) US security clearance.


Position summary:

• You will be a member of a team that is upgrading and deploying a large government application for customer service for Military and Veteran Members.
• This environment requires changes to both Front-end and Back-end Web Technologies.
• This position will focus on the needed experience to change solutions for our Front-end Web development and deployment.
• Strong collaboration with written and verbal communication is important to work as a large team to build a successful product. The ability to learn and adapt to this unique environment and processes is important.

About the team:

• This is a team culture with strength in collaboration and delivering quality work. The team has 20 developers and analysts that collaborate on multiple projects and are working to upgrade applications to more recent technologies.

Required technologies:

• Java Development JDK v. 21
• JSON
• XML

Nice to have:

• MongoDB
• Quarkus (Container Development)

Minimum required work experience:

• 4 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.

Required education/equivalencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
• OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
• OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 8 years without a degree)
