VitalEdge PA is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Physician Assistant to join our Pain Management office located in Poughkeepsie, New York. In this role, you will be at the forefront of providing exceptional patient care through the diagnosis and treatment of various health conditions, while also promoting effective pain management strategies. As a vital member of our healthcare team, your expertise will ensure that our patients receive comprehensive and compassionate care.

Work Environment

The position is primarily on-site at our well-equipped hospital facility, where you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nursing staff, and physical therapists. This environment fosters teamwork and the sharing of knowledge, enhancing the overall quality of care we provide to our patients. Our standard working hours are 40 hours a week, from Monday to Friday, culminating each day at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, including thorough physical examinations, to develop personalized treatment plans in coordination with supervising physicians.
• Perform necessary diagnostic tests and order additional investigations to formulate accurate clinical decisions.
• Administer pain management procedures such as trigger point injections and joint injections under supervision, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
• Prescribe medications responsibly, providing patients with clear and actionable pain management recommendations.
• Monitor patient health and track progress, adjusting treatment plans when necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
• Create educational materials and conduct sessions for patients and families on effective pain management techniques and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
• Engage actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights that benefit patient care initiatives.
• Advocate for patient health by ensuring proper follow-ups and adherence to treatment regimens.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical research to advance your knowledge and expertise in the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients primarily consist of individuals suffering from both acute and chronic pain related to various medical conditions. You will work closely with patients who have a range of issues, from post-operative pain to chronic pain syndromes. A commitment to understanding each patient’s unique experience and developing tailored solutions will be critical to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Valid Physician Assistant license to practice in New York State.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active DEA and NPI numbers.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and the ability to maintain compliance during patient interactions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for successful interactions with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical, hospital, emergency room, or pain management setting.
• Experience in pain management or related fields is highly desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate a proactive and positive approach to problem-solving and patient care.
• Strong commitment to ongoing education and research within the field of pain management.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 160,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, VitalEdge PA offers a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000, comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
