Law and Motion Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Law and Motion Associate to join their team in San Francisco, California. This role offers the flexibility of remote work for part of the week, allowing seamless communication and collaboration from various locations. Duties Draft pretrial motions and oppositions, including pleading‑related, discovery, and dispositive motions. Prepare trial documents, including motions in limine, trial briefs, and jury instructions. Draft post-trial motions, such as motions for new trial and attorney's fees. Handle appellate cases and conduct appellate arguments. Conduct legal research and provide recommendations on complex legal issues. Analyze and assess litigation and appellate strategies. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Active membership in California State Bar and in good standing. Law review or significant legal writing experience is a plus. Exceptional research and writing abilities with strong analytical skills. Prior Judicial Clerkship or Externship is a plus. Prior criminal defense attorney experience is a plus, but not necessary. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Certifications Active membership in California State Bar. Skills Exceptional research and writing abilities. Strong analytical skills.
