Traveling Therapist Opportunity

RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. Can start directly at the clinic due to not requiring any orientation or dimensions training. Required skills/certs/exp: Minimum years of experience: 2 years. Minimum experience required: traveler experience. Clinic will accept 1st time travelers. Locals accepted/rate difference: yes. Skills: Adult acute care; CT simulation, custom molds, custom shield, MRI, PET scan, tumor localization, beam modifying/positioning, block cutting, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, wedges, calculate dose of radiation, Pinnacle (Philips), Eclipse (Varian), external beam therapy, IMRT - intensity modulated radiotherapy, ARIA, Varian 21 ex/ix, lift/transfer devices, isolation precautions, radiation safety, use of rapid response/code teams, simulation of treatment sites, CT/iCT. Certs: BLS; ARRT T.

Job details: Ratios: 1:5. Clinic will accept 13 weeks only. 40 hours can be offered. Shift can be 5x8s or 4x10s depending on clinic needs. 5x8s: M-F 08:00 - 17:00; occasionally 09:00 - 18:00. Staggering shifts for the 4x10s: One shift would be 7am - 5:30 pm with 30 min lunch. Next group would be 8am - 6:30 with 30 min lunch. RTO: 7 days max for AYA auto offer. Call requirement: none. Float requirement: yes, floating required between the 1988 South 16th St clinic and the 109 Scotts Hill Medical Drive clinic (only about a 25-minute distance between the two). Weekend requirement: none. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a storm team and/or hurricane team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the centralized office mid-contract may occur, and the contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed.

Special procedures/unit details: This contract is for local float coverage of two different clinical sites in the Wilmington, NC, coastal region. The primary site has 3 Varian linacs and one CT sim. The sister site is about a 30-minute drive away (north end of Wilmington) and has one Varian True Beam as well as a Siemens CT simulator. Pending volumes and coverage needs, the traveler would float between these offices. The traveler will not be expected to cut blocks, perform CT sims alone, or perform dose calcs. There are always an MD and an RN on-site throughout the day. We may ask some days if the traveler could come in 9 am to 6 pm, and some days 8 am to 5 pm. Additionally, there will be opportunities for the traveler to opt for 4 - 10-hour shifts if desired (but not required). Therapists do not work alone, so the traveler would always be paired with at least one other therapist. Unit systems: Aria. Scheduling type: manager schedules. Traveler will work 8am-5pm and occasionally 9am-6pm based on department needs.
