The successful candidate will provide specialized support to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Payer Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations team. This role will report to the Program Manager. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to support public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies in transforming their data into actionable insights. What you will do :Provide dedicated analytical and workflow support for managing issues impacting VA's Payer EDI operations and related project performanceManage EDI production issues to maintain workflow continuity, including intake, tracking, analysis, and defect resolution Ensure timely identification, tracking and resolution of production issues such as file format discrepancies, data mapping issues, transmission failures, and other anomalies affecting Payer EDI transactionsPerform data analysis including researching the root cause of production issues, running SQL queries, searching cloud-based (e.g., AWS) and VA-managed systems for appropriate transactions and medical document attachments, and troubleshooting reporting discrepancies.Attend elaboration and UAT handoff meetings, communicating with multiple stakeholders internal and external to VADevelop and maintain issue logs, tickets, dashboards, metrics, status reports, action trackers, and other operational documentationCollaborate with clinical informaticists, scrum masters, agilists, product owners, VA stakeholders, and technical SMEs to capture operational impacts, decisions, dependencies, risks, and follow-up actionsAssist with backlog refinement, Program Increment (PI) planning, and roadmap updates for EDI and modernization initiativesContribute to continuous process improvement by documenting lessons learned, retrospective findings, and recommendations for improved performanceOther duties as assignedRequired Education:Bachelor's degree in health informatics, healthcare administration, public health, business, data analytics, information systems, or a related fieldRequired Experience:At least four years of relevant experience in EDI operations within VA or similar healthcare payer systemExperience in data analysis such as root cause analysis of production or other file issuesExperience developing program reports, trackers, meeting materials, data summaries, and stakeholder-facing documentationRequired Skills:Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving EDI production issuesFamiliarity with EDI X12 transactions and data mappingSolid knowledge of Agile workflows and Jira for issue trackingStrong oral and written communication skills, including creating and delivering standard operating briefings and documentationAbility to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess operations and make recommendations for improving business processesProficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and related collaboration toolsAbility to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust clearance (minimum Background Investigation); active VA network access eligibility preferredMust be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder, authorized to work for any U.S. federal government contractor without sponsorship, in compliance with federal contracting requirementsPreferred:Certification in EDI standards or Agile practicesExperience supporting VA/VHA, OCI/OHI, Field Informatics Service, IHP, HITT, CIOC, VistA/CPRS, Oracle Health/Cerner, or EHR modernization initiativesSuccess at AmidaCommunication is the key to success at Amida.
