Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a contract Occupational Therapist in a school setting near Escondido, CA. Work with a dedicated team of professionals as you provide specialized care to a diverse caseload, including medically fragile children needing compassionate and skilled OT services. This full-time position is slated for 37.5 hours per week, running from August 18th through the end of December, with a strong likelihood of extension.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Demonstrated experience in school-based OT settings
• Comfort and skill in supporting medically fragile students
• Familiarity with IEP processes and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative OT services to elementary-age students as designated in IEPs
• Customize interventions to foster student participation and independence across educational environments
• Assess students’ functional needs and document progress in accordance with school and federal guidelines
• Work closely with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement support strategies
• Adapt therapy approaches for students with complex medical needs, ensuring safety and accessibility
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute OT expertise to team decision-making
