Payroll & Benefits Coordinator

The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits programs while providing critical administrative support to the Human Resources function. This position serves as a key resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR-related inquiries and helps ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations. In addition to payroll and benefits responsibilities, the role will support a variety of HR administrative tasks, projects, and employee lifecycle activities as assigned.

What You’ll Do:

Payroll Administration

1. Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.
2. Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, and other payroll data for accuracy.
3. Process payroll-related changes, including hires, terminations, compensation changes, and deductions.
4. Coordinate payroll issue resolution and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
5. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Benefits Administration

1. Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plans, and leave programs.
2. Coordinate employee enrollment, changes, and terminations in benefit plans.
3. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions.
4. Assist with annual open enrollment activities, employee communications, and benefit education.
5. Maintain benefit records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Human Resources Administration

1. Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparation of paperwork and system updates.
2. Assist with new hire orientation and employee communications.
3. Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records.
4. Manage HR documentation, forms, and recordkeeping requirements.
5. Support employee leave tracking and related documentation.
6. Assist with employment verifications and other employee requests.
7. Generate HR reports and assist with audits and compliance activities.
8. Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
9. Assist with special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Compliance & Reporting

1. Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws related to payroll, benefits, and HR administration.
2. Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive data.
3. Assist with internal and external audits.
4. Support HR metrics reporting and data analysis efforts.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Bachelor’s degree required
2. Minimum of 2 years of payroll, benefits administration, HR coordination, or related experience
3. Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration systems preferred
4. Strong understanding of payroll processes and benefits administration
5. Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
