Our organization is seeking a PRN Speech Language Therapist to become a part of our team at a prominent university hospital. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative services to patients experiencing speech-language and/or swallowing difficulties. You will assess, evaluate, and create tailored therapy plans based on each patient's unique abilities and challenges. All activities will be conducted in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and our organization's policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities- Conduct direct evaluations and re-evaluations for speech, language, and swallowing, assessing both prior and current functioning levels. Set appropriate goals and make discharge recommendations in line with established practice standards.
- Deliver direct Speech Language Pathology (SLP) treatments, which include educating patients and their families, advancing treatment plans, and implementing suitable therapeutic interventions.
- Utilize the correct documentation forms and adhere to the documentation standards set by the PM&R department. Effectively manage and prioritize your schedule based on patient treatment needs and departmental duties.
- Ensure proper use and upkeep of departmental equipment and supplies.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members regarding patient treatment and progress, as well as with affiliated agencies for effective discharge planning.
- Maintain continuing education units (CEUs) as required by state regulations to ensure ongoing professional competency. Comply with all Department of Health and Joint Commission regulations concerning the physical environment and patient care.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Eligibility to obtain SLP licensure in the District of Columbia prior to starting this position.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred 1-2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting.
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of USD $65.00.
