RN Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse (RN) - Burlington, VTBurlington Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of healthcare professionals. As an RN at our facility, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.ResponsibilitiesDirect the daily activities of certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines, as well as established facility policies and proceduresEnsure policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assignedParticipate in the admission, discharge, and transfers of residents as requiredObserve for changes in residents' status, notifying the physician and resident's family or representative, and documenting accordinglyTranscribe physician orders to medical records and carry out orders as writtenPrepare and administer medications as per physicians' orders and observe for adverse effectsPerform wound treatments as per physicians' orders, observe for changes, and document accordinglySchedules follow-up appointments for residents and transportation needs as indicatedProvide nursing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unitProvide direct care skills such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IV administration, etc. in accordance with current policies and proceduresPerform rounds to ensure resident needs are being met and personnel are performing their assigned dutiesCollaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team as needed to ensure residents' needs are holistically metInform appropriate departments of concerns or complaints and file grievances as necessaryReport any incidents or unusual occurrences to the supervisor, unit manager, assistant director, or nursing director and participate in the investigative process as neededParticipate in end-of-life care as requiredEnsure there is adequate stock of medications, supplies, equipment, and notify appropriate personnel of needsInitiate, review, and update care plans as requiredPromote teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communicationParticipate in the survey process when inspection surveys ariseRequirementsCurrent unencumbered State of Vermont RN licenseStrong communication skills to communicate with residents, families, and staffCritical thinking skillsAbility to handle different situations with tactBenefit Package6 Paid HolidaysOn-site free employee educationComplimentary employee meals and moreMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLong & Short-term Disability InsuranceAccrued paid time off – Full Time Employees401KIf you are a motivated and compassionate healthcare professional looking for a new challenge, please apply to this role by submitting your application.
