Job Title: VMC Mill Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled VMC Mill Machinist with a strong background in precision machining and a keen eye for detail. This role involves setting up and operating VMC Milling Machines, working with tight tolerances, and conducting thorough quality inspections.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Makino Mills with Fanuc Controls.
• Machine small, precision parts to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Make tool offsets and minor program edits as needed.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure quality outputs.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience with Mill Set up.
• Strong understanding of precision machining and tight tolerances.
• Ability to troubleshoot programs.
• Experience with CMM reporting, blueprint reading, and inspection tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with CNC, lathe, and tooling.
• Familiarity with Swiss lathe, Swiss machine, and Swiss CNC.
• Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.

Work Environment

The work schedule includes a weekend shift from 3:30 pm to 3 am, Thursday through Sunday, with a 10% shift differential. Mandatory training is required for the first two weeks, taking place Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm. Travelers are welcome with a $160 daily per diem and should have direct experience with the type of machinery to minimize training requirements. The initial contract duration is four months, with the possibility of extensions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loves Park, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Loves Park,IL.
