Fastenal Cold Heading Machinist5800 Industrial Ave, Loves Park, IL 61111 IL180 Manufacturing Facility Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU 2:00pm - 11:30pm FRI 2:00pm - 6:00pmOVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Fastenal Cold Heading Machinist, you will be setting-up and operating cold heading or threading equipment. Operating heading or threading machines will be based on previous experience.ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Setting up and operating cold heading or threading equipmentInspecting parts and verifying dimensional dataMaintaining scheduled deliveryReading and interpreting blueprintsMaintaining toolsMaintaining all aspects of the machines from set-up to operationRequired Position QualificationsThe following skills and qualifications are required for this position:18 years of age or older, due to the nature of workExcellent written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of cold heading and/or threading equipmentKnowledge of quality tooling associated with cold heading or threading machinesDemonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgencyWork independently as well as in a team environmentLearn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworkLift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbsPass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)Preferred Position QualificationsPossess an understanding of ISO quality systemsPrior experience reading blueprintsFamiliarity with inspection practices and knowledge of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, ring gages and protrusion gagesAbout UsSince 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
