About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: Up to 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in critical care settings License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable working in all ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units. Experience with ratios of at least 1:5 is required. Charting experience with EPIC is mandatory. Description: Position available for a Registered Nurse in a resource nursing float pool. The nurse will float between ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units based on staffing needs. Staffing needs will be re-evaluated every 4 hours, potentially necessitating floating 2-3 times per shift. Weekend work may be required every other week or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. One holiday shift must be worked within a 13-week contract period. Medical and religious exemptions for COVID-19 and flu vaccines are allowed. Requires proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, central line care/management, and arterial line management. Skilled management of tracheostomies, non-invasive airway support, and chest tubes is necessary. Experience in cardiac monitoring, emergency medications, continuous IV sedation, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips is required. The average patient ratio for ICU is 2:1, PCU is 5:1, and medical-surgical may flex up to 7:1. Interdisciplinary support services are available to assist with patient care. A background in working within large facilities is preferred. Travelers are permitted and first-time travelers are accepted. Full compliance with health requirements and documentation is necessary before joining.
