Job DescriptionThe HVAC Technician performs maintenance, repairs and installation of assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in accordance with client expectations and requests.Pay $33 - $45 per hour: The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.1st shift (Monday - Friday) 7am to 3:30pm with some OT. For information about ABM's benefits, visit ABM Employee Benefits.ResponsibilitiesThe HVAC Technician is responsible for ensuring that the Heating, Venting, and Air Conditioning systems of a commercial, multi-floor building are maintained and operating in optimum condition. This role involves working directly with clients, engineering leadership, and vendors to deliver top-tier asset management and ensure client satisfaction through strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills.Install/maintain HVAC systems.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC systemsPerform rounds, reactive, preventative and repair maintenance tasksPerform preventative maintenance tasksAssist with energy conservation strategyChiller & Boiler Experience preferredEnsure adherence to all safety standards as identified by engineering leadership and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standardsLearn, understand, and comply with fire, safety, and other emergency practicesKeep simple written records of activities performed and complete basic reportsMaintain good working relations with other staff and client contacts and employeesWork in confined areasWork independently and effectively with minimal supervision while under pressure and within strict time constraints.Work assigned shifts and overtime as neededReturn all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe conditionInform supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafeAdditional duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience.Technical school graduate in HVAC or Mechanical Technology preferred.Universal CFC and EPA certifications required.Proficient in all general HVAC concepts.Proficient in HVAC maintenanceChiller & Boiler Experience preferredKnowledgeable of the equipment, tools and materials used in HVAC services and building maintenance.Prior experience in troubleshooting with excellenceMay require shift work, overtime and/or on call duties.
