When covering, the driver will move trailers around our campus in Waconia, MN. During the off‑time, the driver will work in the production area helping with the manufacturing of cabinets. Like most positions at our Waconia plant, opportunities to learn and advance are available and encouraged. Primary Responsibilities This person will be responsible for moving trailers in our yards, loading/unloading trailers as necessary. This individual will also be required to complete truck driver job duties. Responsible for deliveries made to and from the receiving area via forklift and pallet jack, stacking of all parts, and cleanliness of the area. Ability to provide accurate documentation and paper flow, as needed. Assists in reporting information and may help during inventories/cycle counts. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Must have a valid MN Class A CDL license. This person must qualify to be a Class A CDL driver per MN regulations and statutes. Previous forklift experience is required (both sit down and stand up equipment). At times heavy lifting and may be required to push/pull heavy containers. Good oral and written communication skills required. Excellent organizational skills are needed. Math abilities and Cabinetworks Group product/parts knowledge needed. Good attendance required. Must have an excellent driving record and safe driving habits. Ability to follow paperwork accurately. Requires lifting up to 100 lbs. Job Type: Full Time Shift: 1st Shift Pay Range: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour Bonus: One time sign on bonus of $500 that will be paid out 50% after 45 days and 50% after 90 days of employment. Two shifts available: Sunday–Thursday and Tuesday–Saturday 10:00 PM–8:00 AM. Approximately 10‑hour shifts with around 6 stops per day. Routes service Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Experience with doubles/triples endorsement required. US LBM CDL Driver II Operates Class A commercial vehicles safely, compliant, and efficient. Responsible for deliveries to construction sites and build locations. Performs thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip DOT inspections. Provides exceptional customer service and maintains professional demeanor. Organizes and secures loads, verifies orders for accuracy. Adheres to DOT regulations and HOS requirements. Maintains accurate DOT‑compliant logs of driving hours. Safely loads, unloads, and transports materials; operates forklift. Maintains cleanliness of truck. Assists stocking and inventory organization. Trains and mentors new drivers. Required For All Jobs Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Adheres to Company's commitment to workplace safety. Education Qualifications High School or general equivalency degree (GED) required. Experience Qualifications 3+ years CDL experience preferred. Experience transporting and handling lumber and building materials required. Skills and Abilities Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions and complete forms. Effective communication with customers, other employees and supervisors. Deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems. Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements. Knowledge of safe lifting techniques. Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. smartphone, GPS). Collaborate effectively with staff, dispatchers, and other drivers. Knowledge and understanding of federal DOT regulations, logbook requirements, and HOS compliance. Special product handling and access to tight spaces, residential deliveries, demonstrate proficiency with equipment. Leadership willingness to train others; safety committee engagement; participation in US1 Continuous Improvement projects. Licenses and Certifications Class A CDL License or Class B CDL License required. Start Time: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Benefits 80 hours PTO your first year, starting Day 1 (use it or get paid for it).
