TRANSPORTER

Patient Transporter

Responsible for the safe, timely and efficient movement of patients throughout the hospital. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Transporting patients via stretcher and wheelchair to and from destination using safe transfer techniques. Works with nursing staff to determine the safest way to transport patient.
• Cleans and prepares stretchers between procedures. Monitors, logs, and restocks O2 supplies.
• Calls the patient by name, reads patient arm band to verify the account number before transporting patient, and works with nursing staff to check on oxygen needs. Brings medical record of patient when transporting for the imaging technologist to review.
• Maintains a clean, safe, orderly work area to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patient at all times.

Qualifications:

• Active AHA BLS Certification
• Knowledge of proper body mechanics.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Flexible schedule. Ability to work rotating weekends.
• Transporting experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
