Job Summary Under the direction of the Building Administrator and Special Education Teacher, the Paraeducator will assist with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. The role involves providing direct support, academic assistance, behavior management, and fostering independence for students on individualized education plans (IEPs). Assignments are not fixed to specific students; staff members are assigned based on current needs and teacher discretion to maximise effectiveness. The position requires collaboration with other staff to implement accommodations and strategies that promote student success. Students Served Students with reading, writing, math, self‑regulation, and/or social goals on an academic track who do not require specialized life skills instruction or intensive behavioural support. Salary Range $28.91 – $32.84 (Paraeducator B per 2026‑27 Public School Employees Salary Schedule). Holiday pay and pay in lieu of vacation increase hourly compensation. Work Schedule Start Date: September 1, 2026 Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Lunch Break: 30‑minute unpaid break Calendar: 9 months/year; time off during spring break, winter break, summer, and 10 paid holidays Qualifications At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one of the following: Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; Earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; Passed one of the following Professional Educator Standards Board approved assessments: ETS ParaPro Assessment Score of 455 or higher ( Para Pathways Score of 324 in Reading and Writing and a Score of 325 in Mathematics Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment Score of 220 or higher Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program Score of 65% or higher Upon hire, must complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) – Paraeducator Certificate. Ability to meet the qualifications listed on the job description for this position.
