Job Location: Club Service Center - Seattle, WA 98119 Salary Range: $34.00 - $38.00 Hourly Job Category: Human Resources Opportunity Overview: Human Resource Specialist Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Human Resource Specialist leads full‑cycle recruitment while providing broad human resources support across the employee lifecycle. This position partners with hiring managers to attract and hire exceptional talent while also supporting onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy administration, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives. The successful candidate is equally comfortable recruiting top talent, coaching managers, improving HR processes, and building strong relationships throughout the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Talent Acquisition Lead full‑cycle recruitment for professional, operational, and program positions. Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies. Create compelling job postings and sourcing strategies. Source candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, community partnerships, job boards, and employee referrals. Conduct phone screens and interviews. Coordinate interview scheduling. Facilitate offer approvals and negotiations. Manage background checks, reference checks, and pre‑employment processes. Monitor recruiting metrics including time‑to‑fill, source effectiveness, and candidate experience. Develop diverse candidate pipelines. Represent Boys & Girls Clubs of King County at career fairs and community recruiting events. Human Resources Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation. Assist with employee relations investigations. Coach managers on HR policies and best practices. Support performance management initiatives. Maintain employee records in Paycom. Process employment changes. Support leave administration. Assist with policy development and implementation. Ensure compliance with employment laws. Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives. Assist with training and leadership development programs. Participate in compensation and salary review processes. Maintain confidentiality regarding employee information. Compliance Ensure I-9 compliance. Maintain personnel files. Support audits. Monitor policy compliance. Ensure recruiting practices align with federal and state employment regulations. HR Projects Develop recruiting processes and SOPs. Improve onboarding experiences. Support HR technology initiatives. Assist with organizational development projects. Participate in strategic HR initiatives. Relationships Internal Maintain close working relationships with Executive Leadership, Directors, Club Leaders, managers, employees, Finance, Payroll, and Human Resources staff. External Develop relationships with candidates, colleges, workforce agencies, community organizations, recruiting vendors, and professional associations. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least two (2) years of full‑cycle recruitment. Experience recruiting across multiple job functions and levels. Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Experience conducting structured interviews and partnering with hiring managers. Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship‑building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications Five (5) or more years of Human Resources experience in a generalist or talent acquisition role. Experience recruiting within nonprofit, education, youth development, or mission‑driven organizations. Experience using Paycom, LinkedIn Recruiter, and applicant tracking systems. Experience facilitating onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and manager coaching. Experience developing recruiting strategies, SOPs, and hiring processes. Professional HR certification such as SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, or AIRS Recruiter Certification. Experience supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) recruitment initiatives. Experience representing an organization at community outreach events, job fairs, and networking events. Experience Three to five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, including at least two years of full‑cycle recruiting. Experience recruiting for nonprofit organizations, youth‑serving organizations, or mission‑driven organizations is preferred. Experience with Paycom, LinkedIn Recruiter, and behavioral interviewing strongly preferred. Education and Training Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Licenses and Certifications PHR or SHRM-CP Certification Preferred. Hours Full‑Time, 40 hours per week. Location This is an onsite 5 days per week role. Primary work location is the Club Service Center located at 220 West Mercer St., Suite 410, Seattle, WA 98119. Travel Occasional travel to Club locations throughout King County in support of assigned client groups and organizational initiatives. Salary $34 - $38/HR depending on experience and qualifications.
