About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to play a pivotal role in the modernization and transformation of its integrated public health system. The COO will be responsible for shaping the future of the organization, which encompasses a wide range of services including a health plan, a public hospital, community health centers, behavioral health services, and housing and homelessness services. This executive leadership position demands a strategic and operational expert with a proven track record in large-scale operational transformation, performance improvement, and aligning clinical operations with financial sustainability. The successful candidate will lead the adaptation of organizational systems to meet evolving healthcare delivery models and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure the financial management of the organization is in line with its operational and fiscal strategy. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a master's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 7 years' professional management experience in a healthcare or human services organization, with at least 3 years in an executive-level leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in executive healthcare operations, including experience in a unionized environment, and will be adept at building collaborative relationships, making data-driven decisions, and demonstrating a commitment to accountability and continuous improvement. The role requires a leader with a strategic mindset, excellent political awareness, and sound judgment, who can work effectively with other county departments to optimize service delivery and promote innovation.
