Commercial Roofing Estimator

With a long-standing reputation for quality craftsmanship, accountability, and delivering complex roofing projects across the commercial, institutional, education, healthcare, government, retail, and industrial sectors, the company offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator to join a stable and well-established organization.The Commercial Roofing Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, completing detailed quantity takeoffs, developing accurate cost estimates, and preparing competitive bids for a wide range of commercial roofing projects. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, general contractors, suppliers, project managers, and internal operations teams to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements.ResponsibilitiesReview architectural drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.Perform detailed takeoffs for commercial roofing systems, materials, accessories, sheet metal, and related scopes of work.Prepare accurate estimates for new construction, reroofing, replacement, repair, maintenance, and restoration projects.Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other project cost estimates.Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.Analyze project plans and identify potential risks, exclusions, scope gaps, and opportunities.Prepare detailed proposals and bid submissions in accordance with project requirements.Collaborate with project management and operations teams during the handoff of awarded projects.Maintain accurate estimating records and update pricing databases as required.Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs when necessary.Build strong relationships with general contractors, building owners, property managers, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders.Ensure all estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.Qualifications3+ years of experience estimating commercial roofing projects.Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, including low-slope roofing.Experience with systems such as TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, built-up roofing, coatings, and/or metal roofing is highly desirable.Ability to interpret construction drawings, architectural plans, specifications, and scopes of work.Strong knowledge of commercial roofing materials, installation methods, labor requirements, and industry pricing.Experience performing detailed construction takeoffs and preparing competitive bids.
