The Accounting Specialist will support a wide range of accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash application, reconciliations, expense reporting, tax administration, and financial process support.The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on accounting work, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable managing recurring financial processes while partnering with internal stakeholders and an outsourced accounting and payroll provider.Position OverviewThe Accounting Specialist will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, helping ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across accounting processes. This role combines transactional accounting responsibilities with opportunities to improve processes, maintain financial records, support tax compliance efforts, and contribute to the company's continued growth.This position offers long-term growth potential as the organization expands and continues to build its internal accounting capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable & Cash ManagementProcess and maintain customer invoices and accounts receivable recordsApply customer payments and reconcile incoming cash against outstanding invoicesInvestigate and resolve payment discrepancies, credit issues, and billing questionsMonitor outstanding receivables and support collection efforts as neededMaintain accurate customer account information within the ERP systemAccounts Payable & Financial OperationsProcess vendor invoices accurately and efficientlyReconcile and manage company credit card transactionsAssist with month-end close activities and supporting documentationReview employee expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and policy complianceSupport financial reporting and data accuracy across accounting systemsTax & Compliance SupportMaintain tax-exempt certificates and supporting documentationAssist with sales and use tax administration and recordkeepingEnsure financial records are maintained in accordance with company policiesAccount Administration & Process ImprovementSupport onboarding of new customer accountsMaintain accurate vendor and customer master dataPartner with the organization's outsourced accounting and payroll provider to ensure smooth financial operationsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and efficienciesAdministrative & Team SupportAssist with document management, filing, and record retentionMaintain confidentiality of financial and company informationContribute positively within a small, collaborative team environmentQualificationsAssociate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting experienceExperience working within an ERP or accounting software platformStrong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external partnersPreferred QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, Dynamics 365, or a similar ERP platformCash application and account reconciliation experienceExposure to sales and use tax processesExperience reviewing employee expense reportsExperience supporting outsourced accounting or payroll relationshipsExperience within a regulated or healthcare-related environment is a plusWhy Consider This Opportunity?Join a stable and growing organization with an expanding presence in its industryBroad exposure to multiple accounting functionsOpportunity to make a visible impact within a lean, collaborative teamGrowth potential as the accounting function continues to evolveCompetitive compensation and benefits packagePlymouth-based position with some schedule flexibility available
