Executive Sous Chef – New Restaurant Opening at Gecko Hospitality (Chicago, IL) Bring your talents to one of the world’s hottest restaurant concepts. You never know where this opportunity could take you across the globe! Job Description As the Executive Sous Chef, you will be pivotal in ensuring our new Chicago location reaches its full potential. You will embody our critical core values of Product & Quality and showcase our world‑class offerings to the guests. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our guests enjoy the most mouth‑watering steaks and seafood with a keen eye for quality and dedication in each dish you and the kitchen staff prepare. Benefits Salary Range: $75k-$80k DOE Bonus up to $8k annually PTO Fully paid insurance Responsibilities Supervising Kitchen Operations The executive sous chef oversees the day‑to‑day culinary operations in the steakhouse kitchen, ensuring the smooth flow of food production, maintaining quality standards, and coordinating the kitchen staff. Menu Development and Culinary Creativity They play a crucial role in menu creation, recipe development, and ensuring that the culinary offerings align with the steakhouse’s brand and standards. This includes contributing to the creation of new dishes and refining existing ones. Training and Development The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for training new kitchen staff, supervising their work, and ensuring that all employees adhere to established food preparation and safety protocols, contributing to a cohesive and efficient kitchen team.
