Staff Accountant

Vaco is hiring for a Cost Accountant opportunity in Brook Park OH. Direct Hire, Onsite Salary: 60-65,000/yr POSITION SUMMARY This position will provide Cost Accounting support for warehouse functions, including analysis of cost and inventory data, freight, and related systems and procedures. The Cost Accountant will serve as the first point of contact for cost accounting questions at the warehouse level and collaborate with production, accounting, and inventory teams. This role is responsible for reviewing production data entries and reconciling production-related supply and raw material inventories, as well as work-in-process and finished goods inventories. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Apply cost accounting and analytical skills, along with production process experience, to measure production operations at the plant. Maintain and improve financial internal controls and related processes. Review data entry inaccuracies with Production Leads and identify process improvements. Calculate standard and actual production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead. Develop reporting covering inventory, production, actual and standard costs, yield variances, and cost variances. Prepare operations labor and overhead budgets. Partner with the accounting team to complete the manufacturing accounting month-end process. Analyze changes in product design and determine the cost impact on raw materials and labor. Analyze cost changes resulting from revised production layouts. Lead the monthly inventory process to ensure accuracy. Manage vendor credits and tracking. Oversee expense coding and timely reporting of expenditures. Produce financial reporting and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close and consolidation processes. Manage the accuracy and productivity of daily accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credit and collections, fixed asset records, general accounting, and entity accounting. Complete special projects assigned by the Controller. QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting, internal controls, and manufacturing production. Experience implementing accounting or financial reporting processes. Sage experience preferred. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization. Creative problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. #J-18808-Ljbffr
