Senior Director, Software Engineering - API Marketplace

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 10+ years of applied experience and 5+ years leading technologists through complex technical challenges in your area of expertise.
• Proven experience designing and implementing REST and GraphQL APIs, with a strong grasp of relevant standards and best practices.
• In-depth experience with one or more API gateways, including managing and optimizing API traffic and security.
• Proficiency and hands-on experience in React UI development, building and maintaining scalable, efficient user interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across highly matrixed, complex organizations and deliver value at scale.
• Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models using enterprise-authorized tools, including governance, human-in-the-loop decision-making, quality gates, measurement frameworks, and secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs.
• Deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resilience and security expectations at scale, with the ability to advise senior leaders on safe adoption, portfolio governance, and reuse-first strategies.
• Experience leading complex projects involving system design, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Extensive practical cloud-native experience.

• Lead technology delivery for our external-facing Partner API developer portal, enabling high-value customers to onboard to mission-critical banking APIs and integrate with JPMorganChase.
• Partner with Product Management and Design leaders to shape an intuitive, robust portal that gives partners API access aligned with business objectives.
• Support the end-to-end API value chain by fostering collaboration and excellence with internal API providers delivering B2B capabilities to partners.
• Set and scale a multi-department strategy for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation using enterprise-authorized tools, advancing speed, scalability, reliability, and cost-to-serve objectives.
• Establish portfolio-level standards for AI-orchestrated delivery workflows, release governance, automated test modernization, resilience engineering, and faster incident response, with guardrails for validation, security, resilience, traceability, and reuse.
• Apply SDLC toolchain expertise, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to promote cross-domain reuse and measurable capacity gains across departments.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to teams, often overseeing employee groups across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, building consensus across competing priorities.
• Manage multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations.
• Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
