Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide in-home individual therapy sessions or facilitate group therapy sessions at our outpatient center to address behavioral and emotional challenges.

• Utilize strategies for anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills development while mitigating high-risk behaviors such as self-injury or physical aggression.

• Support youth and caregivers in improving decision-making skills to effectively manage in-home behavioral issues.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each youth and their family.
\n
• Maintain thorough documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, all submitted within established timeframes.

• Participate in monthly meetings to share insights and recommendations for continued therapeutic success.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with children and teens aged 3 to 20 who are facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This role emphasizes understanding the unique needs of each client, developing personalized strategies to address behavioral issues, and engaging the entire family in the therapeutic process. Our focus on bilingual services in Spanish and Portuguese allows us to serve a diverse community effectively.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory to practice.

• Availability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with additional weekend hours being a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster meaningful relationships with clients and their families.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is essential.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children aged 3-20 and those with intellectual/developmental disabilities is highly desirable.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle to facilitate travel for in-home therapy sessions.

• Background check clearance, including fingerprinting, is required as part of the employment process.

Compensation and Benefits\n
