Responsibilities The candidate will: Provide nutritional consults and clinical service as needed Contribute to teaching and to house officer and graduate student training Engage in research related to animal nutrition and its clinical implications Oversee nutrition clinical case management Deliver high-quality clinical and pre-clinical teaching Demonstrate research productivity and procure external grant funding; publish peer‑reviewed papers Participate in college and departmental committees For professional clinical track: majority clinical service with a smaller portion devoted to research For tenure/tenure-track: develop and/or run an independent research program with a focus on clinical, transnational, and/or basic nutrition research Collaborate with multiple units within NC State University and external institutions (e.g., UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke University, Wake Forest University, industry) Rank will be awarded based on qualifications Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience A doctoral degree, an equivalent qualification, or comparable professional experience A DVM or equivalent degree, with residency training in Veterinary Nutrition (ACVIM or recognized European equivalent) Preferred Qualifications Diplomate Status, PhD, or boarded in a second specialty Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate in a collegial, team-oriented environment Genuine interest in teaching and mentoring veterinary students and residents Required License(s) or Certification(s) Candidates must meet the requirements for a North Carolina veterinary license or North Carolina Faculty certificate.
