Step into a meaningful career opportunity supporting students across Ingham County as a contract Occupational Therapist. With both full-time and part-time positions available starting in September, you’ll play a crucial role in helping K-12 students reach their fullest potential through high-impact therapy services.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license for the state of Michigan
- Experience with school-based OT or familiarity with the school environment preferred
- Confidence working with diverse caseloads, including Kindergarten through 12th grade
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational staff
- Adaptability and reliability—placements may vary within Ingham County
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504 plans
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations to identify student needs and monitor progress
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapy interventions supporting academic participation, self-care, sensory processing, motor skills, and classroom engagement
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams for integrated student support
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and required paperwork
- Engage in ongoing communication with school staff and participate in relevant meetings or professional development
