Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care within the Operating Room, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Supervises and collaborates with the surgical team to deliver coordinated, high-quality care throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' needs and medical history to prepare for surgical procedures.
• Develop and implement individualized perioperative care plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Monitor patient vitals and condition continuously during surgeries, responding to any changes promptly.
• Educate patients and their families about surgical processes, pre- and post-operative instructions.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to circulating nurses, scrub technicians, and other team members.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and sterilization standards to prevent infections and complications.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Possess CPR and BLS certifications from an approved provider.
• Have experience working in an acute care setting, preferably within a surgical or perioperative environment.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
