City/State Harrisonburg, VA Work Shift Multiple shifts available Overview Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery in Harrisonburg, VA! Preferred applicants will have experience specifically in Labor and Delivery and will cross train into postpartum. Schedules available Full-Time Rotating: Three 12-hour shifts per week with weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday. Call Requirement Self Scheduled call is 32-40 hours per 6-week schedule. Must be within 30 minutes of the facility for call requirements. Sign on bonus Up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates. About the LDRP Sentara RMH Medical Centers Family Birthplace includes 10 private bed L&D, and a 20 bed post-partum mother/baby. Our Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery has a 1 to 1 ratio while our intermediate care babies have a 1 to 3 nursing ratio. Our LDRP unit also offers post operative care for complex GYN and Breast surgical needs. This specialty area has a 100-member team cross trained to offer best in class healthcare to Harrisonburg, VA, and surrounding areas. Transition to Practice/ Nurse Residency Program The Women’s Health Transition to Practice program will focus on the transition experience with support and skill acquisition for practice in Labor & Delivery (L&D) (14 weeks training), Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum (LDRP) (16 weeks training), Antepartum (12 weeks training), Mother/Baby (12 weeks), or Nursery (12 weeks). Program includes Formal delivery of fundamental Women’s Health nursing concepts and standards via Perinatal Orientation and Education Program (POEP) modules blended with in-person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines as recommended by the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses Hands-on experience in Women’s Health alongside a trained nurse preceptor or Mentor within department. Opportunity to share experiences and network with peers in a safe, protected environment Series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses) Education & Certification Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing BSN or MSN Preferred Certification/Licensure Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. BLS within 90 days of hire Registered nursing license required EFM- Electronic Fetal monitoring preferred Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred Experience Experience 2 years of acute care registered nurse experience in Women's health preferred 1 year of acute care registered nursing experience highly preferred Labor and Delivery specific Experience preferred Strong understanding of patient safety protocols. Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments Communication with patients and providers Compensation We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
