Director of Sales And Business Development

PayOnward

PayOnward is a cloud-native digital payments platform that enables credit unions and community-based financial institutions to compete in modern commercial and consumer payments. PayOnward offers tailored payment solutions for credit unions and community financial institutions, including white-labeled SMB Bill Pay and Receivables, Member Bill Pay, P2P payments, and AI-driven payment workflows. The platform empowers institutions to modernize bill payment processes, enhance relationships with small business clients, and maintain control over the payment experience, all within a secure and scalable infrastructure. About the role PayOnward is looking for an experienced, quota-carrying sales leader to personally originate and close new business with credit unions and community banks across the US. This role combines individual production with sales leadership. You will own the full sales cycle while also building structure, discipline, and reporting around pipeline development and revenue forecasting. You will prospect, run discovery, lead executive conversations, deliver demos, and close business. In addition, you will be responsible for pipeline oversight, weekly and monthly reporting, forecasting accuracy, CRM discipline, and establishing repeatable sales processes as we scale. This role is built for someone who thrives in early-stage or growth environments and excels at identifying and closing deals. This is a true hunter role for someone who knows how to open doors, collapse sales cycles, and close deals with credit unions and community banks. Direct experience selling into credit unions and community banks is required for this role. If you are a current VP/SVP/CRO, we would discuss elevating this role for the right fit. What you will be doing Prospecting and closing new credit union and community bank clients Building and managing a qualified pipeline through direct outreach and industry relationships Running discovery with executive stakeholders Presenting solutions via calls, demos, webinars, and in-person meetings Owning deals from first conversation through contract execution Traveling to conferences, events, and client meetings as needed Collaborating with management, product, engineering, and operations teams Establishing and maintaining structured pipeline management Delivering weekly and monthly sales reports to leadership Maintaining accurate forecasts and revenue projections Building scalable sales processes and reporting discipline Maintaining accurate CRM data and opportunity tracking Who we are looking for Direct experience selling payments or fintech solutions into credit unions or community banks is required Existing executive-level relationships within CUs and community banks Proven success as a hunter responsible for new logo acquisition Experience selling bill pay, payments, AR/AP, or related SMB or FI-related SaaS platforms Comfortable selling to C-suite and senior leadershipExperience leading pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting Background in fintech, payments, or core banking-adjacent technology Startup or growth-stage experience preferred Location Remote within the United States About the company PayOnward is a Black Dragon Capital company.
