Job Type Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid Responsibilities Identify and develop best practices and procedures to reinforce the Company’s Safety First culture. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations. Serve as the Company’s face for our Safety-First culture, promoting that culture through frequent visits to, interactions with and training of operational field personnel. Conduct Safe Work Method training sessions to certify trainers in the facilities with W2 employees. Conduct various required governmental employee training, including OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, etc. Indirectly manage members of the Company’s Safety Committee, directing daily, weekly and monthly activities to build, promote and maintain the Safety-First culture at the facility level. Provide support, topics and assistance for weekly and monthly safety meetings. Organize and oversee audits of Company safety components, including facility, personnel, operations and equipment audits. Develop, implement, and monitor health, safety and emergency response programs. Organize and oversee the creation and implementation of driver training and new driver orientation. Collaborate with and support Operations by providing training, communications, and resources for safety related topics, policies, and procedures. Organize and oversee the Company’s response to DOT driver and vehicle inspections and BASIC score maintenance. Manage and Audit ELD Compliance and follow-up on any HOS issues with the impacted location/driver. Organize and oversee the implementation of the Company’s drug and alcohol program (including the Random Drug and Alcohol Screening) and the Company’s Compliance with Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. Ensure compliance with annual MVR requirements. Organize and oversee driver qualification requirements and DQ File creation, interventions, incentive promotions, evaluations and/or discipline. Manage Powered Industrial Truck training and rosters. Oversee and manage HIPPA training for drivers making medical deliveries. Oversee and manage accident response, property damage and claim response, as well as workers’ compensation administration. Manage and maintain electronic files pertaining to accidents, incidents, and DOT Inspections. Record accidents/incidents/failed inspections to the Safety Incident Tracker on the operations SharePoint. Coordinate Deep Dive calls to follow-up on any accidents, incidents, and failed DOT Inspections to identify best practices that should be followed. Oversee and manage MVR monitoring. Oversee and manage the development and implementation of OSHA and general safety compliance. Maintain records, track, and report to the executive team drivers and safety committee members that qualify for the quarterly safety bonus. Engage in other projects and tasks as assigned. Experience Travel up to 20% is required. Ongoing personal interaction and indirect management of field operations personnel is required. 2 years’ experience with safety and compliance management is preferred. Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programs. Must possess excellent and accurate organizational skills to ensure all work is completed in a timely fashion. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate at all levels is critical, specifically including a desire to and proficiency in communicating to every level of the Company’s operations team. Attention to detail is a must. Physical Requirements Employee must occasionally work in a warehouse environment, exposed to loud noises, moving machinery, dust and uncontrolled temperatures. Most work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Employee will be required to visit industrial/warehouse locations, stand on their feet for long periods of time (shift length), move around the facilities freely, assist with operational logistics needs, instruct warehouse employees and drivers and be around moving machinery, dusty environments and outdoor temperatures. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discern visual cues or signals. The ability to communicate orally.
