Research Project Assistant

This position mainly consists of supporting the project through planning and implementation of a series of responsible AI seminars. Seminars will be co-hosted by the CS department and a partner department, include a talk by an invited speaker from one of the above fields, and be followed by audience discussion about the content of the talk and responsible AI sensemaking activities (which we will be analyzing later for research). Essential Functions Getting names of potential speakers from our faculty partners Communicating with and confirming potential speakers, including setting up Zoom/Teams calls if the speaker needs to be remote Making & posting flyers and announcements about the seminars Booking on-campus rooms to hold the seminars in Ordering food for seminar attendees Collecting contact information from seminar attendees to add to a mailing list Attending weekly check-in meetings with me to report on progress and make sure we’re on track Overall keeping the seminars running smoothly. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Customer service, MS Office suite, event planning and logistics Required Qualifications Customer service experience Administrative experience Preferred Qualifications CS major with curricular interest in psychology, sociology, or other social science Experience with data and public service work Active involvement in DU campus or community groups Working Environment This position is in-person with flexible hours. Some movement around the DU campus may be required.
