Financial Controller

Overview We are recruiting for a well-established and growing business group operating across the transportation and real estate sectors, with combined annual revenues of approximately $20 million. Due to recent growth, they are seeking a Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of multiple entities and provide strategic financial support to ownership. Key Responsibilities Oversee the accounting and financial management of multiple companies. Manage and maintain financial records across several entities using QuickBooks. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to support business planning. Monitor financial performance and provide insightful reporting to ownership. Manage intercompany transactions and ensure accurate consolidations where required. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations. Coordinate with external CPAs during tax preparation and year-end reporting. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and efficiencies. Assist leadership with strategic planning, financial analysis, and decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred but not required. 5+ years of accounting or controller experience. Strong experience managing multiple entities. Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks is essential. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Strong understanding of cash flow management and financial reporting. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Preferred Experience Experience within transportation, logistics, trucking, real estate, construction, or property management is highly desirable. Experience working in privately owned or family-operated businesses. Familiarity with multi-company accounting structures. What’s on Offer Competitive salary of $100,000 - $125,000.
