Business Data Analyst

Job Title Business Data Analyst Location Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid/Onsite as applicable) Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Business Data Analyst with expertise in Azure cloud technologies, SQL, and data analytics to support business and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business requirements into data solutions and technical mapping documents. Banking Domain Experience Experience in the banking domain is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders Translate business needs into technical specifications and data mapping documents Act as a liaison between business users, data engineers, and IT teams Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis Work with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related cloud platforms Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights Create field‑level data mapping documents including transformations and business rules Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance standards are maintained Support data integration and ETL processes (good to have: Informatica) Participate in UAT testing and validation of data pipelines and reports Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience in SQL (data querying, joins, aggregations, optimization) Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapse Analytics Experience in Power BI for dashboards and visualization Strong understanding of data analysis and reporting concepts Ability to create Data Mapping / Technical Specification documents Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions Experience working in banking or financial services domain Preferred Skills Knowledge of Informatica (ETL tools) Experience with data warehousing concepts Familiarity with data governance and data quality practices Basic understanding of Python or scripting (optional) Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field 4+ years of experience in Business/Data Analysis Key Competencies Analytical thinking and problem‑solving Strong attention to detail Ability to work cross‑functionally Effective communication and presentation skills Business and technical acumen Technical Skills SQL (Advanced) Azure Data Lake / Azure Synapse Analytics Power BI Informatica (ETL) Python / Scripting Data Warehousing Concepts Data Governance Tools Industry Experience Banking Financial Services FinTech Banking Data Analytics Financial Services Analytics #J-18808-Ljbffr O2 Technologies
