Post-Doc Schindler Lab

Position Summary Entry‑level postdoc position in the Department of Genetics at Rutgers. The laboratory uses mouse systems to study processes relevant to human reproduction. Candidate will perform lab work, manage and train students, communicate project status, review data, maintain the lab notebook, conduct experiments, and present data. Responsibilities Perform independent lab work in genetics, cell and molecular biology, and microscopy. Manage, train, and schedule hourly student workers and undergraduate research assistants. Communicate with the PI regarding project performance and deadlines. Review and report data, maintain accurate lab notebooks, and oversee undergraduate projects. Conduct recombinant DNA techniques, phenotypic analysis, epifluorescence/confocal microscopy, high‑throughput genomics, mouse handling, oocyte manipulation, and mouse genetic analysis. Prepare figures, presentations, and draft manuscripts. Qualifications Ph.D. in life sciences required, with at least 5 years of relevant research laboratory experience. Excellent communication skills and computer literacy. Experience in genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, gamete biology, molecular biology, and microscopy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, GraphPad Prism, gel electrophoresis, RNA isolation, PCR, and image analysis software such as ImageJ. Familiarity with autoclaves, Apple and Windows computers. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high‑resolution imaging and basic molecular biology techniques. Salary $63,968.
