The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner role is located in a hospital-based setting, providing onsite care to patients. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments to accurately diagnose mental health disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on thorough assessments, integrating evidence-based practices tailored to each patient.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, carefully monitoring their effectiveness, managing dosages, and making adjustments as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling services utilizing diverse therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT).
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care, ensuring all facets of a patient's mental health are addressed holistically.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Document and track patient progress meticulously, including responses to medications, therapy outcomes, and changes in presenting symptoms.
• Facilitate regular follow-up appointments to assess treatment effectiveness, modify plans where necessary, and address patient concerns with sensitivity and care.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case collaborations, and clinical supervision to foster professional growth and optimize patient care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a wide variety of patients who present with distinct psychiatric conditions, ranging from anxiety disorders and depression to more complex mental health challenges such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health
• Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Florida
• Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and best practices in psychiatric care
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to patient advocacy

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting, particularly in a hospital-based environment

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 200,000 to 250,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
