Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring 2+ years of current ICU experience and an active OH or compact RN license. Details Surgical ICU/Oncology unit setting Adult patient population with diagnoses including hemorrhagic/hypovolemic shock, sepsis, ARDS, craniotomy, ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, and intracranial hypertension 13-week assignment on a 12-hour night shift schedule (19:00-7:30), 3x12s May be scheduled for day/night rotating shifts based on department needs, with assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period Epic EMR experience required Performs EVD management, ICP monitoring, Massive Transfusion Protocol, mechanical ventilation, CRRT, and vasopressor titration Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of current ICU experience required in the specialty applied for, consistently worked within the last 12 months Oncology experience preferred but not required Skills required include arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, CVVHD/CRRT, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of dysrhythmias Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to surgical and oncology ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and life support interventions First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the 2+ years of experience requirement Former employees eligible for assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
