Bookkeeper – Temporary Maternity Cover (Part-Time) Salary: £22 – £25 per hour Location: Harrow Our client, a well‑established business based in Harrow, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a 6‑month maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on finance professional looking for a part‑time role within a supportive environment. Working Monday to Thursday afternoons, this position offers a consistent working pattern alongside a varied bookkeeping role with responsibility across key financial processes. The role This role focuses on providing day‑to‑day bookkeeping support, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained while supporting wider finance activities including reconciliations, VAT, and month‑end processes. Duties include Managing day‑to‑day bookkeeping activities Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers Carrying out bank reconciliations Processing invoices and payments Supporting credit control activities Preparing VAT returns Completing intercompany reconciliations and postings Assisting with month‑end procedures Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50 Working hours Part‑time role: Monday to Thursday, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm. 6‑month temporary contract (maternity cover). Start date: Late July 2026. Experience / Skills required Proven experience within a bookkeeping role Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Previous intercompany accounting experience is essential Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Good communication skills Why apply?
