Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance MechanicWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. Ideal candidates will have 4 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance on production and material handling equipment to ensure reliable operation and reduce unplanned downtime.Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.Identify and resolve problems on automated equipment, including systems that utilize PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).Execute mechanical repairs and component replacements in a timely and safe manner to maintain continuous production.Monitor equipment performance, document issues, and communicate findings to the appropriate team members.Support production by responding quickly to equipment failures and working to restore operation as efficiently as possible.Follow established maintenance procedures and safety protocols while working with tools, machinery, and industrial equipment.Collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel to improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices.Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.Experience working with automated equipment, including exposure to PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and follow established maintenance schedules.This role is a day shift position: 7am - 3:30 pm. Must be able to have off days during the week and work weekends.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
