Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist Physician to provide locum tenens coverage at a large acute care hospital in Springfield, Oregon. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule and the support of a collaborative, multidisciplinary inpatient care team.

The Hospitalist will provide care to adult inpatients, with responsibilities including rounding, admissions, and cross-coverage as needed.

Practice Details

• Adult inpatient hospital medicine
• Approximately 350-bed acute care facility
• Flexible scheduling with block options available
• Primarily daytime coverage, with occasional swing or night coverage opportunities
• No call requirement
• Average daily census of approximately:
  • 15 patients for rounding shifts
  • 7 patients for admitting shifts
• No ICU management or ICU rounding
• No required procedures
• Dedicated intensivist and specialty teams provide critical care and procedural support
• Full subspecialty support available

Schedule Options

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Swing Shift: Begins at approximately 1:00 PM
• Night Coverage: May be available based on facility needs

Flexible and blocked scheduling options are available, including schedules such as 7 days on/7 days off.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or a relevant Hospital Medicine specialty
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred
• Active Oregon medical license required or eligibility to obtain licensure, depending on start date
• Current ACLS certification required
• Previous Epic EMR experience required
• Recent inpatient clinical experience required
• Ability to meet hospital credentialing and privileging requirements
