About the Position

We are seeking a Board Certified General Surgeon for a 26 week Locum Tenens assignment in a critical access hospital setting. The physician will provide comprehensive general surgical care across inpatient & outpatient services, including surgical admissions, colonoscopy & endoscopy.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide general surgical care for adult patients
• Perform inpatient & outpatient surgical services
• Evaluate, diagnose & manage surgical conditions
• Perform colonoscopy & endoscopy
• Manage surgical admissions
• Provide preoperative & postoperative patient care
• Participate in scheduled clinical coverage & on call responsibilities
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC
• Collaborate with hospital staff & other healthcare professionals
• Provide care consistent with critical access hospital needs

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Surgery
• Active Oregon physician license required at the time of submission
• ACLS certification required
• General surgery experience in a critical access setting
• Colonoscopy & endoscopy experience required
• Documentation of surgical services representative of requested privileges within the previous 24 months
• Recent graduates may provide an applicable training log
• COVID 19 vaccination required per facility guidelines

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• 8 hour shifts
• Scheduled coverage with on call responsibilities
• 5 shifts per week
• 26 week assignment
• Start Date: December 7, 2026
