About the Position

Description

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to provide locum coverage in Florence, Oregon . This is a hospital and clinic-based opportunity with coverage beginning in September 2026 and approved through January 2027 . The provider will manage inpatient and outpatient orthopedic cases, including orthopedic trauma within their scope of privileges, while working independently.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic care in both hospital and clinic settings.
• Perform orthopedic surgical procedures, including orthopedic trauma within the scope of privileges.
• Conduct inpatient rounding and admissions.
• Evaluate and treat both adult and pediatric patients.
• Manage approximately 2 hospital patients and 12–20 clinic patients per day .
• Participate in weekday clinic coverage along with night and weekend call .
• Document all patient encounters using Epic EMR .
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered orthopedic care while working independently.

Working Hours

• Orientation: September 17, 2026
• Coverage: September 18–25, 2026 (Initial Assignment)
• Assignment Approved Through: January 25, 2027
• Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Night Call: Required
• Weekend Call: Required
• Hospital and clinic coverage.

Requirements

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Active Oregon Medical License required at the time of presentation.
• BLS Certification required.
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last 6 months) is required.
• Must provide documentation of 100 orthopedic cases performed within the past 24 months , including diagnosis/procedure, date, and facility.
• Clean malpractice history strongly preferred.
